Brandied Peach SundaesCuisine: American Category: fruit Servings: 4 Ingredients:1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch1-1/2 teaspoons cold water Dash of salt 1/2 cup grenadine syrup 1/4 cup brandy or apple juice 2 cups sliced peeled peaches (about 2 medium)* 1 pint vanilla nonfat frozen yogurt *Substitute Frozen (thawed) or canned sliced peaches in juice, drained, for the fresh peaches. Instructions:Served warm or cold over frozen yogurt, the pretty red color of this brandy and peach sauce comes from grenadine syrup. Grenadine is a sweet syrup made from pomegranate and other fruit juices. Mix cornstarch, cold water and salt in 1-quart saucepan. Stir in grenadine syrup. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cook over low heat about 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in brandy and peaches. Cool slightly and serve warm, or cover and refrigerate until chilled.
